Durex Industries designs and manufactures electric cast iron heaters for melting soft metals. Specifically, to melt metals such as solder, lead, tin, stereotype metal and Babbitt (with 4% or less Copper content).

Maximum working temperature of 950°F (not suitable for immersion in zinc or aluminum).
