IMMERSION RESISTANCE TEMPERATURE DETECTOR

July 30, 2005

Durex Industries, Cary, Illinois, manufactures a Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) specifically designed for liquid or semi-solid immersion applications. The protective housing is of 304SS or 316SS depending on the process material. This design can be ideally suited for high-pressure applications reaching 5000 PSI.

Various lead wire materials and constructions can be used for abusive environments of UL/CSA requirements. Lead wire configurations are available in 2-, 3- and 4-wire designs. Platinum and nickel are the primary element materials for RTD’s. Tolerances for Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) assemblies conform to DIN 43760, IEC 751, (class A and B) and JIS 3920 specifications.
