Cary, IL – Durex Industries, a leading North American designer and manufacturer of heaters, temperature sensors, controls and systems, recently announced the release of its newest product family for fluid heating applications.
The DFX family of electric heat exchangers provides fast, safe and effective heating of liquids and gases…without the drawbacks of traditional electric circulation heaters. Unlike traditional circulation heaters, the DFX Series heater elements are isolated from the medium flow path. A coiled, seamless, 316 stainless steel flow tube, along with the heater elements, is embedded in a light weight aluminum casting. This isolated flow path construction is ideal for heating de-ionized water, solvents, sterilization gases, and other contamination sensitive substances.
“The DFX was also designed for heating viscous and temperature-sensitive fluids such as oils, coatings and paints, resins and solvents,” says Randy Nelson, GM of Durex Industries. “Embedding the heater elements in light weight aluminum provides rapid heat transfer and gentle, indirect heating that won’t degrade the fluid.”
The heavy wall flow tube, available in single and dual flow tube configurations, provides high pressure ratings not easily obtained in traditional circulation heaters. It also enables use of heat/cool capabilities for precise solvent, volatiles and viscous liquid temperature control.
