Cast Platen Heaters
Posted on 5/1/2008
Durex Industries manufactures cast platen heaters as a durable heat source for commercial applications.
Cary, IL – Platens can be manufactured with thickness from ½” and up. A rugged tubular heating element is distributed evenly to provide a uniform temperature pattern across the surface. CNC machining operations provide surface finishes from 125 RMS to 8 RMS, depending on the application. The standard flatness tolerance is .005”, but other tolerance specifications are available. Secondary coatings such as Teflon® or Nickel can be added to enhance surface performance characteristics, as required. These platen heaters can also accommodate a host of mounting options, including threaded holes, cast-in stud terminals or mounting tabs. The efficient heat transfer characteristics of the cast-in design offer higher wattage outputs and longer life cycles than other heaters used in these applications.
